Some of our Scouts will be participating in a 10 mile hike at Borderland State Park in North Easton, MA as they work towards earning their hiking merit badge. The Webelos and AOL Scouts from Pack 25 will also be joining us, as many of their Scouts need to attend a Boy Scout event (they will be hiking a shorter distance). There isn’t much elevation gain at Borderland and it’s a relatively easy amble through the forest and around ponds, so all Scouts from Troop 24 are welcome to attend, even if they aren’t planning on earning the hiking merit badge.

Borderland State Park is a fantastic property, rich in scenery and history. We will explore the exterior of a mansion on-site, and learn a bit about its history, plus there are ponds, mountain biking trails, and other cool areas to explore. The Scouts working on this merit badge will be planning a route at a future troop meeting.

The hike will take approximately 4-5 hours, so please bring a lunch.

What to bring: Water bottle, lunch, snacks, rain gear, daypack

Duration: 4-5 hours

NOTE: There is a $5 parking fee. If any Scouts need transportation, contact Kim Askew.
